Health & Wellbeing



Span offer a varied and diverse range of health and wellbeing activities. Tutors are skilled and qualified, classes are kept to small sizes to allow enough space and attention to allow for participants to achieve what they wish. All activities are held in a comfortable and relaxed space.
Physical activity is an important component of maintaining a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle, especially as you grow older.
For Health & Wellbeing classes we have a 5 class pass per term. Please contact Span for further information.
Span is resourced to fund NDIS clients with mild disabilities. Span is not a NDIS provider but provides activities under NDIS plans.
Gentle Exercise
Tutor Bruce Hatfield
Come and join Bruce for this low impact class which will strengthen your mind and body. All students report an improved outlook on life, fitness and coordination. A fun and friendly class for all ages.

Mindful Movement
Tutor Paul Daniele
Mindful Movement is a holistic wellness practice that incorporates elements of mindfulness, yoga, Qigong, Pilates, functional training and mobility exercises.
Practicing Mindful Movement helps to cultivate greater awareness of the mind, deepens connection to the breath and is a pragmatic way to embody ancient spiritual wisdom and philosophy. Please contact Span with expressions of interest.

Tai Chi
Tutor Rani Hughes
Yang 24 will be taught in terms 1 and 2. The most popular style of Tai Chi in the world. This form is the style of the Emperor of China. It is a gracious and regal form of Tai Chi. Suitable for beginners and advanced practitioners.

Tai Chi for Healthy Minds & Bodies

The tutor is a master trainer in Tai Chi for health programs and an Occupational Therapist. This class provides informative, supportive and fun Tai Chi sessions of movement and flow (modified as required).
This class is for participants who are seeking a supportive group to find calmness and relaxation through gentle movement flow. Family carers looking for a supportive social connection are also encouraged to attend.

Accessible Yoga

Accessible Yoga removes the barriers to practicing Yoga and the idea that you need to be super flexible, a certain age, able bodied or to wear lycra! Unwind & Restore Yoga for Women

This more feminine Yoga practice encourages women to work with their unique cycles, acknowledge and understand their own energy levels, and support their bodies with nurturing, supportive and restorative poses. Inviting gentleness and quietness for self through supported poses, gentle stretching and movement interweaved with gentle pranayama (breathing) exercises in this evening practice. Pilates
Tutor Danielle Afif
Danielle’s classes offer a low impact exercise, designed to improve overall core strength and flexibility. Pilates is a system based in deep breathing that stretches and strengthens the muscles without stressing joint and ligaments. Special techniques will be used to help restore the natural curve of the spine. Exercises can be modified to accommodate all fitness levels.
Delivered on zoom each week. Recording of zoom session shared.
