Darebin Hard Rubbish Heroes (DHRH), Transition Darebin and Span couldn’t be prouder of all that’s been achieved in our little experiment over the last 6 weeks.

The Heroes are truly living up to their name, with an army of dedicated volunteers running the shop, rescuing items from nature strips all over Darebin, cleaning and fixing items to get them shop-ready and engaging with the community on the importance of it all.

We’ve learned so much, created amazing connections and helped spark confidence and creativity for some of the super-talented upcyclers locally.

So far we have rehomed over 3,000 preloved items, weighing over 1,700 kgs, diverting them from the hungry jaws of the hard rubbish crusher!
