Are you finding it hard to keep your lawn in good shape?

If you ar a Darebin resident aged over 65 years (or over 50 years and an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person), Council may be able to help with cutting your grass.
As part of Age Friendly Darebin, we’ve partnered with Jim’s Mowing to deliver a 5-month program trial with limited spots available until November 2020.
What work will it cover?
Council will pay part of the cost for Jim’s Mowing to mow your lawn, trim your edges and put the cuttings in your green bin.
What does it cost?
Jim’s Mowing will charge you $40 flat, on the day, for the subsidised service. Council will cover the rest of the cost for up to 1.5 hours of the work. If the job you request will take more than 1.5hrs Jim’s Mowing will tell you. You can choose to prioritise the work or pay extra for the service. You can also arrange with Jim’s Mowing directly if there is other work you would like to get done such as pruning hedges. Again, this will be at your cost.
How often will you get a lawn mowing service?
This is a limited trial Council is running until November 2020. There is no guarantee that regular services may be provided.
What if you are not happy with the work?
1. Contact Darebin Council Aged and Disability on 8470 8828.
2. Aged and Disability Services will then hand over your feedback to Jim’s Mowing to address within their complaints process.
3. Jim’s Mowing will contact you to discuss.
