Writers Victoria is working with Darebin City Council to run ‘Writeability Goes Local’ at the Preston Library.

This is a free creative writing program for writers and aspiring writers with disability. This includes (but isn’t limited to) people with sensory or physical issues, hidden issues, ongoing medical conditions, learning difficulties or mental health conditions. If you self-identify as a person with disability, or as someone who experiences barriers as a result of your condition, then this opportunity is for you.

The Our Own Voices forum is a “come and try” event for the program. The forum explores how writing and telling our own stories helps change how we think about ourselves, disability, and community. The forum will be led by Gemma Mahadeo, Jax Jacki Brown and Jessica Walton (pictured below).
