We’re delighted to have a new source of carbon for our food waste composting program.

We now have Paperloop offcuts now coming our way regularly which will be a valuable input to the back of house compost system.

We will also use this material to line the bottom our clean food waste buckets. This will help absorb food ‘juices’ for users and make them much easier for our staff and volunteers to clean. Win-win!

This is a great example of collaboration in our local neighbourhood house network as Span and Bridge Darebin work together to create a closed loop system. Doing this helps us to reuse cardboard and reduce waste, while improving local soil quality and food security.

Another win-win!
