We are excited to announce a new service at Prace in partnership with La Trobe University! Introducing the Forms and Advocacy Assist Service (FAAS), a new program designed to assist local community members with form-filling support and consumer advocacy.

FAAS is delivered by La Trobe University students, trained in providing a range of services. For instance, assisting a client to respond to a letter requesting action from the client or denial of an application, seeking further information regarding a form and supporting document requirements behalf of clients, and following up on behalf of a client regarding a form they have lodged.

FAAS are able to assist with a wide range of forms including:
– Centrelink forms.
– Child support.
– Housing and lease agreements.
– Fines.
– Divorce applications.
– Family violence/personal safety intervention order applications.
– Tax submissions.
– Immigration forms.
– Superannuation.
– Identity documents.

In addition, the FAAS team also provide advocacy for clients needing assistance with telephone and utility companies, housing, complaints and job agencies.

The Forms and Advocacy Assist Service will be available on Thursdays at Merrilands Community Centre, Reservoir. Local community members are welcome, however, bookings are essential.
